Description: PetSafe's Wireless Containment System creates a circular boundary radiating outward from a base transmitter placed inside the home, avoiding the labor-intensive wire-burial process required by traditional in-ground electric fence systems. This makes it a popular option for renters or owners who want a flexible boundary without permanently altering their yard, and the circular range can typically be adjusted to fit smaller or larger properties within the system's maximum radius. The collar receiver delivers a warning tone as a dog approaches the boundary, escalating to a static correction if the dog continues toward the edge, with most systems offering multiple adjustable correction levels to match a dog's size and temperament. Because the boundary is circular rather than following property lines, irregular-shaped yards may end up with either wasted usable space or boundary overlap into a neighboring property, so measuring the yard against the system's radius beforehand is important. As with any e-collar-based containment, proper boundary training during the first one to two weeks is essential for the dog to learn the boundary safely, and it should never be used as a sole containment method for dogs with a strong prey drive or high escape motivation without additional physical barriers.
