Description: This Timothy hay-based formula is built around the fiber-heavy diet adult rabbits need for healthy gut motility and natural dental wear, since a rabbit's teeth grow continuously and rely on constant chewing of fibrous material to stay properly worn down. Timothy hay pellets carry lower calcium levels than alfalfa-based formulas, which matters for adult rabbits since excess calcium over time has been linked to urinary sludge and bladder stone risk in the species. The uniform pellet shape also prevents the selective-eating problem seen in mixed diets, ensuring every bite delivers the same balanced nutrition. This formula is specifically intended for adult, non-breeding, non-growing rabbits — young, pregnant, or nursing rabbits typically need the higher protein and calcium found in alfalfa-based formulas instead. Pellets should always be paired with unlimited access to fresh grass hay as the actual majority of a rabbit's diet, with pellets serving as a nutritional supplement rather than the primary food source.
